Setlist – 03/10/2008
I think the Doors have two types of songs: the good ones, that are overplayed, and the prentious ones, that should never be played. I’m also quite content with Dennis Leary’s summary of the story of Jim Morrison: “I’m drunk, I’m no one, I’m drunk, I’m famous, I’m drunk, I’m f*cking dead.”
They did write some good songs though, and Jim was the quintessential troubled troubador for his time*, with all the boozin’ and drug abuse that goes with the territory. So he’s appropriate, and I like to fill requests, so that’s the live album tonight. Until then, I have tons of stuff I’ve never played before, and I’m looking forward to playin’ it for you. *Technically, one of many. I think they re-coined that term for the 60s/70s.
