Live Album Month finale! Rum Doings for March! Lots of exciting long-format things going on tonight, with some March-released drunken-tunes filling in the gaps. The live album tonight is from Boob. How about boobs, eh? Boob is even better than Spock-boobs. So you're in for a treat.

Usually, I don't include the live album in the podcast, because that seems like a dick move to everyone involved – my live albums are generally available for free on the internet anyway, and stealing hits/taking credit for that would be douchey. But this live album is different: As far as I know, unless you know a member of Boob or the guy who I got this from (I don't know if he was in the band, or tangentially connected or what, I don't remember, it was years ago), this album is completely unavailable anywhere. It is IMPOSSIBLE to get. Or was. Until now. You can get it by downloading this podcast. And by crikey, "Take It Out" alone is worth infinitely more than the cost of admission (i.e. free).

DOOOOO EEEEEEETTTTTTT! Unless you are poor and don't have any money, I guess. It's kind of socialist in nature, this community radio thing. You listen according to your desire, and contribute according to your ability. Just make sure you fulfill both halves of the bargain! In honor of this mutually beneficial relationship, we have a special edition of Mother's Milk in store, featuring our very favorite guest, Herschel Stratego! It is March, which on Mother's Milk means Live Album Month – to make room for our Heschel Extravaganza, we selected a short but poignant set from Kimya Dawson, shortly before she had her first kid.

I am redefining the-seat-of-my-pants, tonight. Nothing planned, both my plan and my backup-plan having failed.

UPDATE: That worked pretty well, actually. Almost all of the music was decent, what wasn't was still interesting, and it was a full two hours of tunes I'd never played before, with one exception (which I hadn't played in at least two or three years, so I don't feel bad about it). It could have been a trainwreck, but thanks to the Lord o' the Drunks and some serendipitous selections, it was awesome. Click here to download it. I don't really do theme-shows, but christ almight on a pogo-stick, I find all of the negativity that surrounds this non-holiday to be sort of cringe-inducing. At the end of the day, I'm ambivalent to Valentine's Day. Which is why I don't really understand the bitterness and bitchiness that 95% of the people I know are compelled to demonstrate 'round this time of year. If you have a significant other, it's a convenient day to celebrate that. If you don't, it's a convenient day to get drunk. Where's the problem, guys? I'm playing love-songs, until I run out of them. Love songs about drinking, of course. We DO have standards to uphold, up in this piece.

We're going Grebo! Google it. It makes no sense to me either. But apparently, I like a lot of Grebo bands. Who knew? After our all-too-brief flirtation with Grebo, we're hitting some other great Brits and then closing the month out with the BEST BRITS EVER, Nick Mailer and John Walker on Episode 21 of Rum Doings.

Not really sure what this show's gonna consist of; I was all food-poisoned yesterday and didn't get a chance to put a show together. 'By the seat of our pants' is our unofficial motto, tho, so no harm done. Other than the miserable illness, anyways.
